The Mini-Manga Collection

The images in this collection are available in Design Tools to create your own designs with existing products.

The illustrations are inspired by the manga tradition, but I have deliberately chosen not to make them perfect – to further highlight the playful nature of children’s minds and their relationship with the images. The originals were created between 2008–2010 with ink and paper, which means that there are several original, handmade versions.

The idea is to revive strong colors and shapes on a white or transparent background – but at the same time in a way that is pleasing to the eye. These children's pictures are not created with a commercial purpose either. Rather, I have tried to create something simple, playful and charmingly incomplete – to enhance the childlike feeling in the design. The goal is to arouse interest and curiosity about the figures depicted.

The images can also be used for posters and clothing as print motifs. A collection of posters can decorate a child's room, or they can be used to create a collection of t-shirts.
