The technique itself is simple, but the meticulous execution of the details requires greater skill and precision from a steady and well-trained hand, maintained by a meditative mindset throughout the creative process and invested in every line drawn on the paper. The artist's patience is based on a well-developed and well-thought-out artistic concept, in accordance with the artist's own definitions of surrealist biomorphism.
Nature's biological forms are the greatest source of inspiration in abstract artistic creation. Their power lies in the evolution of form over millions of years under the pressure of environmental changes. Consequently, they are infinite – a source of absolute inspiration. The artist strives to follow this source, which began many years ago, by creating small drawings, sketches and modest oil paintings within surrealism – specifically biomorphic forms – shaped by human isolation and the harsh Nordic winter climate.
With great humility, the artist points out that in the biomorphism of these works there is an implied freedom – an abstract, mental one. A freedom whose chaotic existence we rejoice in and which proves to be crucial for personal happiness. The creation of these forms expresses a euphoric psychological state – a joy in one’s own existence – and they in turn function as instruments for harmonization against the sharp edges of life that test our daily lives.
In the free creation of these forms, one's own identification in relation to the surrounding nature is born and maintained; it is consequently the root on which we grow and with which we seek answers to the questions of existence itself.
Creating round, complex shapes – without any squareness – harmonises the creation itself and enables a journey into the shapes of our own subconscious. The creation of these shapes is in itself a dream-like journey inward. The artist wants to show that art is something inherent in existence – and becomes even more present when a hostile environment makes us aware of our own fragility and weakens it aesthetically – forcing us to transform everything into friendly forms so that we can live a more beautiful life before the end of life.
